点评:This area is well worth seeing, but plan your time carefully! It is quite a long drive from the main road and much of the track is unpaved - although well-made and wide. When you get to the gate pay $5 NZ in cash in a honesty box. It is an open site and I suggest going early in the morning or later in the afternoon. Take trainers as shoes or something better than sandals or flip flops. The path is quite rough and also quite steep. The 'bad lands' are some of the best I have seen. Not as dramatic as Cappadocia in Turkey, taller but not as extensive as the Pinnacles desert in Western Australia, but much better than the Hoodoos in Drumheller in Canada. The place is almost spooky with enormous sandstone pinnacles towering hundreds of feet up. But this is a one-way trip. You cannot walk through the bad lands - just up a steep path until it become impossible. Oh, and there are no facilities at all! So take water! I hope my pictures give a good impression!
