A cold disappointment
Heaven Farm的点评
点评：We’ve been coming to heaven farm café for several years now and always thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Facilities are fantastic: the views, the walks, the children’s amenities, an on-site gelato shop which is very popular, chickens and geese wandering around and an aviary in summer. The tearoom was one of the best with a wide menu: the usual breakfasts, light lunches and splendid cakes.
This changed a couple of years ago to a more upmarket local farm based restaurant . We liked it but it’s expensive with a much smaller menu of mainly large lunches, not light bites. Sadly the cakes had sold out whenever we turned up. We persevered, enjoying some great soups here. Unfortunately the last couple of visits were not good: half the menu was off or had run out, they were short staffed, tea and coffee were nearly cold by the time they came to the table. The food was very very good but portions were tiny for the relatively high price and one dessert never arrived - for which we received a refund but no apology. The worst thing frankly, even before all that, was the temperature as it was very cold out yet doors were wide open so we ate with our coats on. Radiators were off. Even the kitchen area was cold which suggests microwaves were the cookers of choice.
In sum, I’d suggest the restaurant continues their enticing gourmet evenings but reinstate a daytime café serving a more inclusive clientele, perhaps with the labour saving old queue system, and more staff. And turn the heating on. Personally I’m not planning to go back until late spring. In summer there are tables outside. The old tearoom space is now a cookware shop, so the current restaurant has extra tables upstairs where there are some very nice loos. Presumably disabled customers continue to use the outside toilets for the campsite which are accessible.

总而言之，我建议餐厅继续举办诱人的美食晚宴，但同时恢复白天的咖啡馆服务，以吸引更多不同背景的顾客。或许可以沿用以前省力的排队系统，并增加一些员工。另外，记得打开暖气。就我个人而言，我打算等到春末再去。夏天的时候，餐厅会在室外摆放餐桌。以前的茶室现在是一家厨具店，所以现在的餐厅楼上增加了额外的餐桌，而且楼上还有非常不错的洗手间。想必残疾顾客仍然会使用露营地的室外无障碍洗手间。
