点评：Highly recommend visiting this little slice of local history for the tour, the merch, the food, and above all, the great beer. Our tour guide, Hannah, was cheerful and knowledgeable, and clearly proud of the brewery and its story. She took us top to bottom - literally - explaining the entire production process from brewing to bottling / canning / kegging. The tour includes a stop at the famous “eternal tap” where you can grab a complimentary cold one, much as Straub’s employees and locals have been doing since the place opened. There are tasty lunch options (I recommend the pulled pork) in the tap room along with a nice variety of beers. The “1872” lager - brewed using recently discovered notes from the original German master brewer - exceeded the very high standards of this home-brewing beer snob. Honestly…I’d make the cross-state haul again to stock up…it’s that good.
If you like beer or you like history…and especially if you like beer history…make the trek to St. Mary’s and spend a couple hours at Straub’s.
