An incredible family experience
Kylemore Farmhouse Cheese的点评
点评：We had the pleasure of visiting the Kylemore Farmhouse as a last minute family trip during our stay in Galway and I feel the need to positively reflect on the farm experience.
We were met by the owner the farm, Teresa Roche, and had an introduction to the farm tour experience. We were given shoe coverings and taken to walk through the farm, getting the opportunity to feed baby cows and view the milking facilities. Additionally we got to have hands on work with the animals and even got to walk a pony! The whole farm tour was extremely informative and i especially enjoyed getting to see the depth of work that goes into making and raising quality cows.
The cheese tour was a highlight. From the curing facilities to the aging, we even got to cut into a 3 year wheel and taste the rich nutty cheese made from the farms own bred cows! There was no shortage in samples and tasting, paired with honey from the farm as well.
The afternoon ended with a large home cooked lunch with fresh bread, charcuterie and tea. All homemade or locally produced.
The whole experience was so personal and family oriented. From the tour, to the tastings and the lunch, we felt the care and consideration in every detail. Truly an unforgettable day. I strongly encourage you to come and support this genuine small business and indulge in a love of food and farming.
Tourist tip: we found it best to book the tour by calling the farm directly from their number on the farm’s website to best inquire a reservation time. You can even call through your hotel if you do not have an international call plan on your cellphone.
