点评:We booked at Laxey Glen for a birthday afternoon tea and this was confirmed both on the phone and by email.
When we arrived, we were informed that , due to a failure in communication between their kitchen and reservation staff, it was not possible to provide the afternoon tea we had booked.
While a bottle of Prosecco was eventually offered and apologies made , it didn't really make up for the disappointment. I accepted the bottle but in hindsight probably shouldn't as I don't even like cheap prosecco. . I was just so stunned at the lack of empathy and accountability from the staff. The attitude of staff was indifferent , the apology half hearted . A rebook in a week was offered but we were going back to the UK the next day. We left feeling let down and that really the staff couldn't care less.
This could have been handled so much better.
Customer service is so vital and should have been instilled from management right across the whole staff!
The whole impression of this establishment was poor. It was untidy outside and a friendly welcome on arrival was lacking before we even found out they weren't going to honour the booking. We left feeling hungry. angry and severely disappointed!
An hour and half later , we experienced the opposite in a wonderfully run establishment in Ramsey, where. upon hearing of our experience, they bent over backwards to make up a wonderful afternoon tea and make my birthday really special
Great customer service is always possible, even in challenging circumstances but only if the will is there!!
