Distressing Experience Due to Mice at Cine Lumiere

点评：I recently attended a screening at Cine Lumiere on 20th February 2025, and what was supposed to be an enjoyable evening turned into a traumatic experience.
Shortly after the film started, I noticed a mouse running across the cinema floor. Over the next hour, I saw the mouse four more times, and at one point, it came as close as 20-30 cm from my seat. As someone who suffers from musophobia (fear of mice), this was extremely distressing and made it impossible to enjoy the film.
I approached the staff during the screening to report the issue, but they merely acknowledged that they knew about the problem and claimed that there was nothing they could do at that moment. This dismissive response was both surprising and concerning, especially given the health and safety risks associated with rodents in a public cinema.
Feeling uncomfortable and unsafe, I decided to leave the screening early. Later, I contacted Cine Lumiere requesting a refund and compensation for the ruined evening, but they only offered two complimentary tickets, which I found inadequate given the severity of the issue.
I am deeply disappointed with how Cine Lumiere, part of the Institut français, handled this situation. A cinema, especially one affiliated with a cultural institution, should maintain high hygiene standards and demonstrate more responsibility towards customer welfare.
I would strongly urge the management to address the rodent problem and improve their customer service. I certainly did not expect such a distressing experience from a reputable venue.
Would I recommend Cine Lumiere? Not until they resolve the hygiene issues and offer more genuine customer support.
