点评:Absolutely fabulous place to visit to learn the history of tin mining in Cornwall.
As you go in there are displays about the history and you can walk around the various buildings and machinery used there. The photos and stories of the old miners who worked there bring that history alive and you can't help but immerse yourself in what they experienced. I could almost hear their echoes in the Dry Room.
It's a hard walk around the site as it's built into the hillside so as you go through, you go down. Lots of steps inside the buildings and a sharp slope outside. Once through the buildings you can opt to go down onto a mining tunnel - it's narrow and low so be ready for that. Be glad to have the hard hat provided. Larger people may struggle through some of the narrowest sections.
Outside again you can wander about the grounds and visit some ruins of previous buildings. It is rocky and rough underfoot.
The walk back up to the main complex is steep so then make a beeline for the cafe where you can buy some lovely food and have a refreshing drink.
The staff were friendly and welcoming. Inside the Mill and Mine there are guides who describe what happened there and are more than happy to chat.
My visit was tiring but well worth the experience and highly recommended.
