Great hike around Tintangel Castle

点评：We visited Tintagel Castle in October and were fortunate to have good weather for walking. The entrance fee was £20 per adult, as it’s managed by English Heritage and we’re not members, so we paid the standard rate.
Be aware that the site involves quite a bit of uphill and downhill walking, with some steep inclines. There is a shuttle service available for the initial decent and final climb (around £2 per person), though we opted to walk as we enjoy hiking.
While it might be a stretch to call it a “castle” — the remains are mostly low stone ruins of the original medieval structure — the views are spectacular. From the top, you can see for miles along the coastline, and the striking 8-foot statue of a ghostly knight on the clifftop makes for a memorable sight.
Overall, it’s a fantastic walk and well worth the effort if you’re comfortable with steep hills and stairs. Facilities include toilets, a café, and a gift shop at the base of the hill, making it a convenient and enjoyable visit.
