点评:It's a difficult place to find, as there are no sign posts anywhere from the Mawgan area. I finally found it after asking someone out walking their dog
There are several " pull ins" in the lane to enable car parking, but the tarmac track leading down to the Creek is private .
Once you get down in the woods, there are various paths which enable you to walk close to the water, or stay higher up within the said wooded area.
At first i was taken in by it all, trees, views of the river etc.
But then i came to an area where there is situated an old Cottage, and a number of trees have recently been cut down.
I cannot understand how the owner/owner's of the property, ( which looked empty) can just fell perfectly healthy trees for the sake of it, and not get prosecuted .
Unfortunately i also discovered another property situated just above the Creek where the owner/owner's have cut down some mature Pine trees.
This property also looked deserted, and i suspect it's probably used as a "second home" by some wealthy folk for the summer months.
So yes, Frenchman's Creek is very scenic, quiet, and worth a visit, but i'm sorry, because for me the trees within the area should be preserved for generations to come, and not destroyed by "second home owners".
