Tram was nice, volunteers need diversity, equality and inclusion training

点评：Tram journey was scenic, a short distance from prod lane end to Roberts park end. Felt festive..
Tickets need to be bought from the small shop.
On our return from Roberts park end, the elderly male and female volunteers asked if we had tickets… we did. We were told to show this to the woman in the shop? We did. She was as confused as we were.
It wasn’t until the white, English lady behind us was asked if they had tickets, she replied yes.. she wasn’t asked to show her tickets
to anyone… that I realised the Shipley glen tramway volunteers require training in diversity, equality and inclusion.
I asked the same elderly lady volunteer which queue I should be in… she said “wait here you’ll know whose before you” :-/
I told her the reason for the question was due to the top end having 2 queues, one for Santa and one for the tram. She didn’t respond. I felt that it was chaotic at the bottom end of the tramway. Perhaps those at the bottom end near Roberts Park entry of the tramway need to focus more on the tramway than discriminating against fellow residents based on how they look.
Respectfully, more than one third of residents of Bradford identify as non white. A culturally diverse city should not have charity run activities that raise eyebrows due to ignorance.
