点评:There's something soothing about spending time in a cemetery, and one of historical significance like this is a wonderful place to relax and pay respects.
Some great views across the city at the high points, it is quite easy to get lost so I recommend to plan from the map as you get there, maybe take a photo if you can't access the QR code. Aim for the edge and follow the wall round if you get stuck, that's where most of the maps can be found.
Being a huge Doors fan, Jim Morrison brought me here, but there are lots of names that I wanted to pay my respects to, Modigliani was very hard to find, but there were crowds at the more popular sites like Edith Piaf and and Jim Morrison. Surprised nobody at Chopin's grave, but it allowed me more time to reflect.
The only real downside, which cannot be helped unfortunately, is the abundance of American tourists, who seem to forget that other humans occupy space on this planet as well. There was what seemed like a reunion taking place surrounding Edith Piaf's resting place, my wife and I waited 5 mins and the jolly still hadn't broken up to allow others to see the tombstone - I then had to ask them and their children to excuse me 3 times with more ferocity until once of them finally acknowledged me and moved the merest amount. This was the case at nearly every significant spot around the grounds, so my advice would be to ensure you make yourself heard if you want a better view, don't hang about longer than you need to if there's a crowd, and don't let yourself be pushed aside by other tourists who do not have respect for others, or the sanctity of the location.
