爱丁堡古城的点评
点评：We walked from our hotel to the Royal Mile, and then on the side streets to look at all that Edinburgh had to offer. The best time to avoid crowds is to get there first thing in the morning. The next best time would be to take a walk after dinner. There will be crowds during the summer, but that’s part of the fun also.
I especially like the old architecture, seeing Saint Giles Cathedral, and walking between Edinburgh Castle, and Holyrood Palace. We had entry tickets to Edinburgh Castle for opening time which is currently 9:30 AM. We also went into Saint Giles Cathedral, midday, which was busy but manageable. There was not as many people at the other end of the Royal Mile, where Holyrood Palace is located, but its a must see since it is an active Palace where King Charles still comes with the family.
In between the castle at one end and the palace at the other end, there are endless numbers of pubs, eateries, and cute bakeries with great sweets . While wandering around, you will see lots of tourists, but you will also see lots of locals so my suggestion would be to take it all in, enjoy the architecture, the new, and the old and plan to spend a full day covering everything from one end to the other.
