Insightful Tour with a Great Guide – Light on Tolkien Content

点评：We took a tour of Merton College and had the pleasure of being led by Freddie, who was an outstanding guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the college’s long and fascinating history, and he shared a wealth of interesting facts and stories that brought the place to life. His depth of knowledge and clear love of his college made the tour engaging from start to finish.
As Tolkien fans, we appreciated that Freddie took the time to point out a few Tolkien-related spots. However, it’s worth noting that while those moments were enjoyable, the Tolkien content was fairly minimal overall. This is definitely a general college tour with a historical focus, not a Tolkien-specific experience.
That said, the tour was still well worth it. Merton College is beautiful and rich in history, and Freddie’s insights made it a highlight of our visit to Oxford.
