点评：One of the most common questions you will find in all of the Route 66 blogs is; “How long does it take to drive Route 66?” There is no correct answer, except to say, a lot longer than you would think. Galena, part of the shortest section of Route 66 in any state (13.2 miles) is a hot bed of Route 66 attractions and Americana. You could easily spend a day in Galena alone and miss things. As I’ve written before, Route 66 is currently in a state of transition; the road has rebirth as well as being taken back into the earth. Nearby this attraction is the inspiration for the movie “Cars” by Pixar and Disney. This museum, although closed when we arrived, was a tribute to the railroads that crisscrossed this nation and is interesting from the outside alone. Allow a lot of time if you are on the Route 66 sojourn here. We did two full days from Tulsa to Springfield, Mo and missed tons. We did it in two days of unseasonably wet weather darting in and out of showers in the early darkness. It’s on to Sedona in the winter to capture Flagstaff and Winslow, AZ at a slower pace. We have completed about a third of Route 66 and will drive it in its entirety in a year or two.
