Only 2 rooms, not a full house

点评：My visit here was a letdown for two reasons. 1. This is not a "house" for an art lover, it is 2 large rooms for an art lover. There are only 3 rooms you get to see in this house. Nothing else from Mackintosh's plan was built or designed. You get the music room and a dining room and another very small very plain room, so that small room doesn't even count. There are no bedrooms, no sitting rooms, no living rooms, no kitchen, nothing else. So, I was coming in thinking it was a full house built, furnished, and decorated to Mackintosh's plans and only 2 rooms were made. 2. This is an event space first and a museum to Mackintosh second. The place couldn't be bothered to move the event space chairs and put things back the way the house was designed. Therefore, I saw the music room, but it was setup with chairs on either side with an aisle and a podium as if an event was happening soon. The Mackintosh designed furniture in the room was pushed into the corners. The dining room was the same thing - multiple round tables setup for an event and Mackintosh's dining room table (that was displayed in the pictures in the house) was not there. Therefore, while what you do see is nice, it is only 2 rooms and not even setup to lookup Mackintosh's drawings, because it is really an event space. Both of these really take away from the experience. I am a huge fan of Mackintosh's designs and this one was lacking. If you have the time, go to Hill House instead. It is outside Glasgow and requires a train ride, but the whole house is on display and has much more to see than this one did.
