A must see for fans of Mackintosh
The Hill House的点评
点评：We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Hill House - it exceeded all expectations.
Seeing Mackintosh decor and furniture in their original setting is a real experience. Luckily it wasn't too busy, so we were able to take our time to properly absorb it all and take plenty of photos. Amazingly, you are free to walk around and get right up close to really appreciate the detail, design and genius of CRM.
Exterior-wise, the protective frame does detract slightly from the 'outside', however once 'inside' the raised walkways give opportunity for views (and photos) you just couldn't get before.
We found all the staff friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The cafe was really good - clean, good food and reasonably priced.
All in all, we will definitely be back again in a few years to see how the conservation and renovation is progressing and just to take it all in again !!
Tip - If on foot, Upper Helensburgh station can save you a long uphill walk, though trains there are less frequent. Also, if you take Munro Drive West (the first left after Upper Helensburgh station) it leads in to Upper Colquhoun St and up to Hill House - it is more direct, cuts a corner and is a gentler hill.
