Good and bad aspects to our day visit to Mansfield Zoo.

点评：It was a beautiful sunny day so we decided on a visit to Mansfield Zoo.
The kangaroos roam free so the interaction / feeding was a highlight for our young kiddies. Deer were lovely and gentle and able to hand feed them. You buy a bucket of pellets at the entrance.
The zoo itself is extremely out dated with old cages , run down in general. Disused enclosures and areas which looked like they hadn’t been touched in a very long time. The public grassed areas needed mowing and considering it was the Melb Cup long weekend we expected that would have been done for aesthetics and safety ( snakes ).
Lions manes were severely matted Some animals looked in need of a vet. Many in small enclosures. I had a level of concern for those animals. One deer had a massive ( tennis ball size ) red growth on its forehead
