点评:My wife and I, both of us senior citizens, were down from Leicester staying in Torquay for a few days and we decided to visit the abbey as it was a short walk away from our hotel. We arrived around fifteen minutes before opening and we, as others who had arrived early as well, could not figure where the entrance to the abbey was as there are so many doors and no signage as far as we could make out. In the end we saw a sign propped against one of the walls for the land train, so we decided that this probably was the area where the entrance was and took a seat on a nearby bench. Luckily, we were correct and the door swung open at ten. It cost us £23 to get in (there’s no concessions for senior citizens), and I’m not at all convinced that this was good value for money, but maybe I’m being a bit harsh. The reason I say this is that we didn’t spend that long wandering around inside and out, and the interior seemed to be a bit of a mish-mash of things, and really not what we thought it would be. Needless to say this is a case of been there, done that, wouldn’t want to return, so I would only recommend it if you have £11.50 to spare, and little else to do on a beautiful sunny day, which it was during our visit.
