Interesting day - but get the train performance right next time
Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway的点评
点评：Lovely railway, operated by lovely staff. I went for the steam and diesel gala in early September. I pre-booked tickets therefore.
Quite a number of engines in steam which was lovely, but a restrictive timetable meant it was difficult to see them all and travel on them. Catering was good at Llanfair station and clearly considerable effort exercised planning the gala.
I would have given the review 5, but what took the edge off the day was the terrible train time keeping, with the 1st train of the day from Welshpool to Llanfair over 20 minutes late and the delays got worse. Some of the heritage rail staff at lunchtime were joking 'oh well it's a gala day the trains always run late' I spent over 100 pounds coming to Welshpool on the national rail network and the lack of effort to recover the heritage train service in the afternoon meant a worry about whether I would connect with my main line train Welshpool to Birmingham. So definitely more effort need to run a timely gala timetable please
