点评:We drove the Dingle Peninsula (Slea Head Drive) on May 23, 2023. We had actually heard of this place during a visit to Dingle Goldsmiths in Dingle Town. I believe it is possibly owned by the family that owns the Goldsmith store as they advertise it on their brochure. It costs 3 Euro per person to enter the site. We walked off the road a few meters and were stopped by a man who poked his head out of a earthen shelter. I was surprised someone was in there. There is a container to deposit the money, but we handed it to him directly. He then went on the tell us all about the place. This is a National Monument and a settlement that dates back to 3200 BC. Five families lived here, stored their food and hid from their enemies. It is an easy walk off the road where there is free parking. Well worth visiting this ancient place. The roof was originally made of stone and is long gone from falling in centuries ago. you can actually walk through this place and imagine how people lived here over 5000 years ago.
