点评:All I have ever heard is how awesome the KC Ren Fest is, so my wife and I finally decided to take a trip out there with my 6 and 10 year old. Wow, was I disappointed. First, you pay high prices to get in, then it becomes a nickel and dime event once inside. Want to do the maze, pay. Want to watch a show, feel obligated to tip. Want to play a game or a ride, pay some more. I'm not sure why we had to pay $75 for my family of 4 to get in with all the extra fees.
Then, watching the magician, it all made sense as he talked about the fair once being an adult only event. He is doing this as telling my 10 year old "to taste the damn salt", shooting smoke in kids faces that clearly didn't want it, and bringing a teenage girl up on stage and then making her feel uncomfortable with comments about her looks, tying him up, and periodically touching her.
The cosplay was cool to see from the workers, but everyone else made it there mission to find the most revealing Halloween costume. The jousting event was cool to see, but my family will not be back. If just adults going it would be fun, but it's not for my family. If you don't mind those things then it's pretty cool, but it was definitely too much for my liking.
