The spa is beautifully done: it is an airy space where while settling inside in beautiful rattan chairs one cannot resist thinking sitting is in nature with birds chirping around, air flowing, seeing trees and sky.
Spa is tastefully decorated with antique furniture, sculptures and fresh flowers. While waiting we browsed small, yet well curated selection of books on health topics, sipped tasty herbal tea and enjoyed the feeling of anticipation. We were here shortly after Christmas and the place was lovely decorated with wooden Christmas tree and wreath - all tastefully selected, almost Nordic simplicity and not overpowering. It felt decorated with love, while preserving the original design as all blended in together well…
You are called for a short consultation with a doctor, who listens carefully and then makes a recommendation to the therapist how to adjust the treatment. We booked 2 back and legs, 1 leg and 1 whole body with steam massages based on availability. And each massage was an amazing experience: therapists are incredible in their skill and care; I personally dozed off as I felt so relaxed and serene, my tired and swollen feet felt incredible after warm oil massage with hot dry heat herbal puff tapping. It was just incredible!!! My kids felt so relaxed and blissful after their treatment as well. On top the doctor gave us bottle of Ayurvedic oil and shampoo for my daughter to address our specific concerns - very sweet and thoughtful gesture 🙏🙏🙏. We enjoyed a cup of herbal tea with fresh dates after our treatments before we bid our goodbyes.
In short, if you are in Colombo or within 1 hour drive, do visit to enjoy local culture and Ayurvedic medicine informed treatments in a beautiful setting - so worth the visit and so memorable…
