点评:I've never been to such an illogically run cafe, we had to wait 30 minutes just for two slices of cake (from the counter), and a pot of tea. It wasn't because they were short staffed, or too busy, they had plenty of staff, but they were all doing other 'non-urgent' things, like wiping down tables, drying cuttlery, general cleaning. This is a management issue, they are trying to run it like a restaurant, but it just doesn't make any sense, they didn't even start preparing our order until all their other kitchen food orders were done, it should have been a 2 minute process, for them to pick the cakes from the cabinet, put a teabag in the pot, fill with hot water, and for us to pay the bill. We didn't need table service for this kind of order, we certainly shouldn't have been put in a 'food' queue, and while it's good your staff are keeping the place clean, ultimately we also shouldn't have had to watch multiple staff members cleaning the place, rather than helping to prepare the outstanding orders.
They should just operate normally, ie. have a member of staff operating the checkout (taking payment in advance), one or two staff preparing the ready items (teas coffees etc), the food orders get sent to the kitchen, and a member of staff serves those food orders and wipes down tables etc, it's so simple. They easily have enough staff, they're just prioritising the wrong things. Also, side point, but why don't they show any prices for their drinks and behind-the-counter items? You'll find that people normally want to have some idea of prices before ordering
