点评：Was looking for Mount Vogel and found this more relevant instead.
Our first spot of the Balkans Tour trip was here. A pleasant surprise of a hidden gem .!
The mountain is part of the Julian Alps and is one of the most climbed mountains in Slovenia and the giant Vogel is just next to the scenic Lake Bohinj. We reached the 1535m attitude mount by cable car, while others may go for the ski lift or just hiking up. In fact most reviews are by hikers but ours was in early winter and there might be lesser hikers on the slippery slopes.
Our ascend was by the gondola but it was misty and we missed the mountainous yet scenic view of both Lake Bohinj and the Triglav National Park.
In winter the Vogel has turned into a renowned alpine ski resort with natural snow and fantastic views. It was around 10am when we ascended to the top and we will the only group around having the vast area to ourselves! Quite a vast top with few buildings around, including the Ski Ctr. Have attached some photos to share..
We spent a good 30+ mins frolicking with the snow and surprised there are a few cats ! Yes at this height and probably feed by the restaurant/café owner.
Then the crowd comes in, but is time for us to leave. Early-Dec and it was snowing lightly, reluctantly we descend via the cable car for the next destination...
