I went to this restaurant with my family for a meal. While the quality of the food and service was fine, the experience we had was extremely upsetting.
When we arrived at the restaurant, we placed our order. Shortly after, before the food was served, they brought us the bill and asked us to pay in advance. Since it was our first time encountering such a policy, we didn’t question it and made the payment. We assumed that this was a standard procedure for everyone in the restaurant.
However, we later noticed that customers who came after us were not treated the same way. They ordered their food, ate it, and paid when leaving. It became clear that this was a special treatment reserved only for us. Was it because we were foreigners or tourists? Did they think we might not have the money or that our card might not work? This assumption and treatment were deeply offensive to us.
When I raised my complaint, they offered a weak excuse, saying it was due to their “system.” I pointed out that their behavior was discriminatory and wrong, but they didn’t even apologize. Feeling humiliated, I left the restaurant and filed the same complaint with the mall management.
If you are a foreigner or a tourist, I strongly advise you to stay away from this restaurant. You may experience the same humiliating treatment, with them assuming you won’t pay or can’t pay, and asking for payment in advance.
My family and I left the restaurant feeling humiliated, and I will never return.
