点评:This is a rare gem of a museum. The mosaics are exquisite. Some of the images are made up of tiny tesserae so the detail that the artist/s were able to achieve is incredible. The buildings protecting the site are also 200 years old. There are many interesting artefacts and baby skeletons found around the villa which are on display and help tell the story of life at the villa centuries ago. We were a party of two locals and our daughter's friends visiting from the USA, two guys in their mid-30's, and they thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. One is an art history professor who also curates international museum exhibitions and he found it fascinating. Little interactive things for children of all ages to try out too. We couldn't resist scribing our names in Roman letters into the wax "slates". Very reasonable entry fee, free parking, toilets on site and a small cafe and outside seating area with stunning views of the South Downs. What's not to love!
