Beautiful place - Friendliest Staff I’ve ever encountered. Ever.
Sherwood Forest的点评
点评：I came here with my wife and 3 young kids, 2 of whom have special needs and we absolutely loved it.
Parking up was simple and it wasn’t far to walk to the forest. It was £6.20 to park for the whole day which I think is very respectable when for Sherwood Pines (rip off) cost £3.80 up to 1 hour, £7.30 up to 2 hours, up to 3 hours £10.50 and all day for £12.
We were met by the friendliest of staff and greeted before we even got in the visitor centre and there was nothing forced or insincere about it, just very kind people making an effort. I didn’t catch names but the chap with purple polo shirt, baseball cap, tinted glasses, black/grey goatee was a gent and told us all about what was on, where to go, he fussed our dog and made us feel very welcome. Same for the red headed lady that was around, she was brilliant.
I’ve read people saying that the shop was expensive but I have to say - again, I think the prices are quite respectable. I paid £6 for a wooden sword and £8 I think it was for a wooden bow and arrows. At Warwick Castle, these things were £20 each! Even Foam swords were £6 elsewhere and break in 2 minutes so I think the shop was fairly priced in my opinion. I left my magnet at the shop by accident, from chatting to the staff and they went above and beyond to make sure I got it and didn’t leave without it.
The forest itself has easy to follow signage and has information dotted around on the statues, features and Points of Interest. The playground for the kids was brilliant and well maintained.
We went to the cafe which was fairly priced and I liked the decor of things filmed there, old pictures and art of Robin Hood. There were pots of crayons and pictures for the kids to colour in whilst having a break/something to eat. Toilets and facilities were spotless.
All in all, there’s nothing to not-pick with Sherwood Forest, it was brilliant and we’ll definitely be returning.
