Steep ticket price, but it’ll be a shame not to visit

点评：Unless you're anti-monarchist, it'll be criminal not to visit the royal palace when visiting a country that still upholds the monarchy system. So, if you're in Spain's capital city, you should not miss the Royal Palace of Madrid, the official residence of the Spanish royal family although it is now used only for state receptions and ceremonies. This palace is huge! With over 135,000 square metres and more than 3,400 rooms, it is the largest palace in Western Europe (and definitely in the world's Top 10), and is almost twice the size of Buckingham Palace. The current baroque-styled palace, which replaces another that was destroyed by fire, dates back to the mid-18th century. Purchase your timed entry tickets online to avoid disappointment and allocate about 2 hours for the visit. That should be sufficient time to catch a glimpse of the richly-adorned lavish rooms and impressive collections of exclusive art pieces, treasures, furniture and everything imaginable in a royal household, whilst learning about the history of the Spanish royal family. Nevertheless, at €24 per entry, I do think that the ticket price is a bit too steep for such an attraction (comparably, the Royal Palace Amsterdam is only €13.50).
