Temporarily Housed in the Natural History Museum

点评：The museum building itself is being renovated, but fortunately the exhibitions are temporarily being housed in the Natural History Museum. For a 10€ fee, you get entrance to both museums, so it is quite a deal.
The first floor exhibits contain many early examples of books printed with Gutenberg's press including the famous Gutenberg Bible. It also features information about the city of Mainz at the time of Gutenberg. The text is available in both German and English.
Between floors, information on the history of the Gutenberg Museum is written along the stairway walls. It was interesting to see the way Gutenberg has been remembered and celebrated in Mainz over the years.
The second floor contains a demonstration room for Gutenberg's printing technology. I was fortunate to see a demonstration in English and it was quite informative and fascinating. There is also a theater where you can watch a movie about Gutenberg. Finally, you will find displays with all the various tools and materials of Gutenberg's printing process.
The third floor has a children's activity room related to Gutenberg's press and a room for special exhibits. I didn't spend a lot of time on the third floor.
The exhibitions in the Natural History Museum may not be as extensive as they are in the dedicated building, but I was quite pleased with what I was able to experience.
