点评:Having just returned from a two-week trip to Cyprus, this trip was the highlight of a wonderful holiday. Captain Stelios was fantastic, and as a proud Cypriot, he was so knowledgeable about the land, the sea, and the people. I feel that he gave us the real tour and we were so much more knowledgeable after.
For the trip, we met Stelios early, which allowed us the magical feeling of having the Ayia Triada harbour just for ourselves. We then left the harbour for a leisurely trip out into the sunrise. Stelios pointed out the landmarks and filled us in on the culture, history, and geology of Cyprus as we made our way to our first stop.
We had coffee and pastries and took some time to drink in the view before swimming with the turtles—an experience I didn't think I would ever have—before moving on to do some fishing.
We weren't so lucky with the fish, and only managed to catch a couple of the invasive Puffer fish. But as my 14-year-old son pointed out, that's why they call it fishing and not catching.
When we arrived back into the harbour, it felt that we had been away for a whole day, such was the depth of the experience.
Top tips: make sure you have a stop at the public toilets at the beach before you set off. Make sure you take some clothes to cover up; it may not be cold, but the sun can be intense on the water.
Finally, thank you Captain Stelios for sharing your Cyprus with us, we hope to return in the summer!
