点评:Alternative mode and slightly cheaper than bus or train when moving around the city core areas. But while stations are quite conveniently located around Hakodate city centre the traveling time can be longer due to the speed & # of stops. They accept Suica Smart Card or one may purchase one day or two day passes for frequent users. For our 3-days here we only took twice and coincidentally alight at the Bay area / Motomachi side of Suehiro-cho tram sta.
The tram route here goes to the major sites of Mount Hakodate Ropeway, Bay (Brick warehouse) area, Hakodate Train & Bus Station, and extends to Goryokaku areas even Yunokawa. Entry is via the mid-rear and exits only from the front, a very similar manner as other countries Tram.
Hakodate is one of several cities in Japan that continue to operate trams, we have tried the tram in Nagasaki, Hiroshima, Osaka, Kanagawa and Okayama version. All has its uniqueness & just love them all!
