Great views, plan parking beforehand!
哈莱克城堡的点评
点评：We had a fantastic visit to Harlech Castle and would highly recommend it to anyone exploring North Wales. The views from the top are absolutely stunning and well worth the effort of getting up there. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout, which really added to the experience.
A quick note on parking before you go: the small car park right next to the castle entrance fills up very quickly, and we spent a little while circling before giving up. There is a larger pay and display car park a short walk away called Bron y Graig Isaf (LL46 2SR), which is where we ended up. Payment is via the PayByPhone app using location code 803894, so make sure you have that downloaded before you arrive. It is genuinely only a short walk to the castle from there, so don't be put off if the castle car park is full.
Once inside, our main observation was that a bit more signage would go a long way. There are some small signs around but we found ourselves occasionally unsure of what we were looking at or which part of the castle we were in. It didn't ruin the visit at all, but a few more information boards or labels would really help bring the history to life.
Be prepared for a lot of stairs! Getting to the top is not essential if stairs are an issue for you, as there is still plenty to see at ground level. That said, we would really encourage anyone who is able to make the climb, as the views across Snowdonia and the coastline are breathtaking. There are rope rails to hold onto as you go up, which makes it a lot easier. Just take your time and it is very manageable.
Overall a brilliant visit and a genuine highlight of our trip to Wales.
