点评:Circular Gothic-style castle with some Moorish influences built in the 1300s after the conquest of the island. It was the residence of the Kings of Majorca. It later served as a military prison from the 18th century until the mid 1900s. It is fascinating to roam around the structure including up to the terrace that offers incredible panoramic views of the city of Palma and its harbor. These views were the highlight of the visit and reason in itself to visit here. The castle is amazingly still very intact although it is mostly empty of any furnishings or artifacts although the throne room was furnished and was interesting. This is also the location of the Museum of Palma which is worthwhile to visit and adds to the experience of coming here. Tickets are purchased on site at a ticket booth. Open from 10am-6pm except closed on Mondays. You can get here by catching the #4 or #20 bus from the center of Palma and then climb 450 steps from the main road where the bus stops. I chose to get here by Uber but I enjoyed taking the stairs down passing by several other good viewpoints and by a small chapel before catching the bus back to the center.
