点评：It’s disappointing to see corruption happening within the official Petra ticket office and shuttle system. We paid for the full experience, including the shuttle, yet the drivers insisted we pay again for transportation that was already included, saying that if we did not that the could not leave for an hour. After paying to keep ourselves alive, they took us the wrong way and claimed they had to wait for 30 minutes at Bedouin shops, which was an obvious setup to make tourists spend more money… especially considering no one at all wanted to buy anything or get out.
After hiking through the desert all day, everyone in the van was tired and hungry, and this behavior showed a real lack of respect or accountability. They told us if no one wanted to get out the van had to sit there in the sun for 30 min… which we found out was not true. When we reported it to the ticket booth, they showed no concern and offered no solution.
Petra is extraordinary, but it’s sad to see such a historic site overshadowed by dishonest practices from those representing it. Tourists deserve transparency and fairness, especially from official staff. It certainly was a dark cloud over the experience. You can’t carry enough water or snacks to make up for all that they put you through.
