点评:I visited the absolutely beautiful Botanical Gardens, including the fantastic tropical and subtropical greenhouses during the 4th day of my holiday to Ghent, but if I knew how good it was going to be I would’ve visited sooner! It was a perfect Sunday morning and so I decided to go for a walk from my hotel, aiming for Citadelpark. For a long time I’ve been wanting to revisit Kew in my home town London, so this was a wonderful place to find! I really loved seeing a little note about how Ghent (much like London) is happily home to many international migrants and how the greenhouses hopefully may give the visitor a little reminder of home. So when I noticed a Baobab tree and back home I regularly visit a Senegalese food vendor for lunch called ‘Little Baobab’ who use the tree in their logo, it was great to touch the tree and then once back in London share my experience with them! But obviously the Botanical Gardens has much more to offer too and I highly recommend a visit (on your first day to Ghent!).
