Capt. Mark's Whale and Seal Cruise的点评
点评：No one in our group of five had ever been on a whale watching tour – always a little suspect of how they find whales out in open water. None of us left disappointed. Captain Mark made it worth the trip as Pleasant Bay isn’t exactly close to anywhere. The 12-person Zodiac boat was the perfect blend of a safe and smooth ride while still feeling very adventurous and close to the water. We drove to a couple of spots over the first 45 minutes on a foggy afternoon and didn’t see anything beyond some cool sea birds, but Captain Mark kept our spirits up with a few stories and sharing his plan. Another 15 minutes of searching led to a solid 30 minutes of multiple sightings of whales that were just majestic – we were mostly within 50-100 yards on most of them. He then turned us along the shoreline and stopped along several coves and glorious shoreline rock formations where we said hello to more than 80 gray seals spread across 7-8 different little packs bobbing their heads out of the water looking at us. And then to top it off, we saw a glorious Bald Eagle perched upon a rock just a few moments from returning to the boat dock. We then stopped for a fabulous lunch of lobster poutine, lobster rolls, and fish sandwiches just up the road at the Rusty Anchor and stopped for a beautiful stroll along the French Mountain Bog Trail (great boardwalk and beautiful surroundings and wildflowers) to make for a perfect day.
