Beware of petty Car Parking rules to maximise your parking charge

点评：This is a review of the Car Parking not the Shopping Centre, which is good. We went to Gunwharf on Sunday, early afternoon. We parked and did some quick shopping and returned to the car half an hour later. My wife paid for a two hour ticket, but then realised that there was something else she had forgotten to buy. We reasoned that we had paid to park for two hours, so there was still plenty of time to do the extra shopping within the two hours we had paid for. Having finished that, we proceeded to the exit still within an hour of arriving, only to find that the barrier wouldn't let us exit unless my wife paid an additional £3.60. This is highway robbery, £7.20 an hour! Nowhere that we saw indicated that having paid for the parking that the vehicle had to exit within a certain time, and having paid for two hours, there should only be an additional charge if two hours was exceeded from the time of taking the ticket on entry and the time of leaving the car park. If you're parking at Gunwharf, be aware of this, as when I phoned to try and get the second £3.20 refunded, they are totally uncooperative, saying that once you have paid, you have just 10 minutes to leave before having to pay an additional £3.20, regardless of having paid for 2 hours and leaving long before that had expired. I won't ever be parking there again on principle.
