点评:4 of us ladies booked a spa day, with lunch and a treatment it was a day out for our friends birthday. We arrived mid morning.We checked in, given a bag containing a gown and flip flops we paid our £25 deposit ( you get £15 back when you leave regardless of whether you return the bags and flipflops, (we knew before we arrived) so not a problem.
No towels when we got our bag, they "still in the drier" eventually got them after asking.
Changing rooms on a lower ground, a lift is available. Plenty of lockers and a few cubicles to change in with lockable door, area clean, hairdryers available.
Would like to address the gown situation, (1 size fits all) you are asked what size feet you are for flip flops but assume the gowns going to fit everyone not the case I'm not huge but the gown didn't meet, so was cold all day walking round in a wet swimsuit and a gown that didn't fit.
Went through to the pool, which was absolutely packed, no available beds or chairs most reserved with towels no one on them, we asked someone and was told no we have no more "Rest and relaxation" spa day !! big fail.
Why only one med towel, ours were dripping after the 1st dip for the rest of the day. Asked at reception could we exchange but a flat no.Need to cap numbers or more beds/chairs/towels to cope with the number of people you sell these packages to. 2 chairs had towels on for 8 hours no one used them.
Main pool and jacuzzi pools reasonable temp, but overcrowded. Tatty in places missing tiles, looks tired
Didn't see a hoist in any part of the pool check if you have mobility issues, walk-in steps with handrail
Salt room, steam room, Sauna all adequate and well maintained.
Ice bath outside.
Relaxation room, Waterbed room, lovely nice temperature.
Massage area up 2 flight of stairs wasn't made aware of a lift anyone with mobility issues needs to check before arriving
Had a back, neck, head massage from Elisha, lovely lady explained everything, very friendly lovely massage, room clean and perfect temperature. Felt relaxed after it. Would definitely recommend her, Massage time was 50 minutes but my friends only lasted 30, so check times.
One negative the room you wait in for your treatment (think room 1) was freezing we wrapped ourselves up in the towel covering the bed..
Lunch the young lady on meet and greet, must have been absent on the customer care training day, unenthusiastic, rolled her eyes several times, everything we asked seemed to much trouble, thank god for Archie (waiter) , friendly and super efficient.
Tried cocktails which were good, but again cold in the dining room.
Food was good, hot and tasty served super quick, had starter and main, yet again weird system with menu with added supplements on certain meals, no problem paying extra but when people book these spa day packages make them aware of additional charges, our group happy to pay, some people aren't always prepared for extra costs on top of the package which makes for an awkward conversation at time of payment.
Had a latte with a scone in the coffee shop in the afternoon this is run by Starbucks. Another area that felt cold and draughty
Didn't use the gym or try any of the classes as we'd just gone to rest and chill ( chill brrrrrrrr being the operative word)
When you check out you put towel/gown in a tub and your card is credited back with £10. Lady that checked us out was really nice asked how our day was and explained the refund to our cards.
Masseuse and lady on reception both were friendly and seemed to be happy in their work.
Facilities for what we used were good, swimming pool and seating poor for the number of people.
Gowns/ towel situation not acceptable.
Public area's cold and draughty (it's an old building but it needs addressing)
Maybe in the summer it might have been a different experience, Recommend you take your own gowns, towels, flipflops in a bag save yourself £10.
When we returned home it turned out we'd been charged for 4 meals we'd paid for as part of the package...even though we told them in tne restaurant when we went in
