Had to pay entrance fee twice due to booking timings very disappointed

点评：Visited today 6 of December 2025. with my young son and my friend and her young son. The Santa grotto was lovely and the kids really enjoyed meeting Santa. Unfortunately because of booking slots available we could only go to grotto in the afternoon. However we had also booked tickets for illumination display in the evening. This ment we had a couple of hours to kill so we decided to walk around the zoo I was really shocked and disappointed we could not enter the zoo with our illuminations tickets which ment we had to pay a additional £61. Considering we had already forked out the best part of £100 for the grotto and illuminations display within the zoo for two children and two adults. . Which we would be visiting later on that evening at 4.pm. to have to basically pay twice to enter the zoo I felt was really disappointing and expensive and a total rip off. Why can you not use your evening tickets to visit during the day is beyond me as it's surly the same entrance fee. For this reason I cannot recommend the zoo and I probably won't visit again in the winter as most the animals were not on display and were probably asleep we hardly saw any of them and still had to pay full price. Very disappointed although the illustrations were nice I cannot recommend the zoo as value for money unfortunately
