点评：Our visit to the Vatican Museums was truly amazing. The sheer volume of breathtaking art is overwhelming in the best way possible. We booked a 4:30 PM guided tour directly through the official Vatican website, which was a lifesaver. I did not particularly want a guide but for the time and day, these were the only available tickets. On a positive note, it allowed us to skip the main queue outside, saving us from the aggressive street touts. However, the indoor check-in process was quite chaotic.Visiting in July meant the indoor heat was severe and unbearable; we even witnessed a few visitors requiring medical attention. Unfortunately, the tour audio quality was very poor, making it hard to hear our guide, though the brief facts we caught were fascinating. Once the tour fully began, the incredible marble sculptures and gallery frescoes completely distracted me from the crowds.A few highlights stood out: finding the incredible Hercules statue, spotting Michelangelo’s self-portrait, and discovering an unexpected Salvador Dalí painting right outside the Sistine Chapel entrance! The Sistine Chapel itself was magnificent, though surprisingly loud. Despite overhead announcements demanding silence and strict rules against photography, many tourists were openly filming and taking photos without intervention from security. Overall, it is an unforgettable, bucket-list experience—just be ready for the intense summer elements! I would not book a guided tour if I return. The museums are easy to navigate and every display has information. What a fantastic thing to do.
