Security regimen spoils it. Parking is expensive.
阿尔罕布拉宫的点评
点评：This was my third visit to the Alhambra, having visited in 2003 and 2010. Back then, you paid to get in and had free rein to visit any part of it, uninhibited, including the Nasrid Palaces. I paid just under 40 Euros, online but should have booked earlier as they sold out the weekdays so we went on a Saturday.
On arrival, you have to show your online tickets and your passports to get in. It was very hot and very busy so I should suggest you go in low season to get the best from your visit. Once in, you are now allocated a slot to visit the Nasrid Palaces. Where did all these tourists come from, in the past 15 years? Ours was 3pm and yes, they are absolutely magnificent but you have to show your tickets and passports again and you also have to show them yet again at the Alcazabar towers which gets to be a real pain as you also now have to queue. I know the world moves on and tourism grows but it becomes a bit of a chore. So many tours going on, we never used any tour.
We never made the Generalife gardens as it was just too hot but I have enjoyed them on previous, cooler trips.
I suppose I shouldn't say this but go down the side and there is an arch where you can get in for nothing though you obviously can't get into the nicer bits but can wander freely.
Afterwards we ate at Jardines Alberto restaurat and can recommend it but watch the time! When we left, I had to pay over 14 Euros for the parking (I had it in my mind it was free but of course it isn't).
