Fantastic Experience to see baby turtles released.

点评：My Husband and I had a fantastic experience witnessing and taking part in this very worthy project which is so important to try to conserve the numbers of this endangered species.
I would second what an earlier reviewer ( Mouse) said about how valuable it is, and how the review of Amy did not have all the facts.
The baby turtles we handled had been carefully excavated earlier in the day when it was light to make sure that all hatchlings were collected.
They were then released in the dark under careful supervision to make sure they all headed down the beach and into the water. Any that headed in the wrong direction ( as they often do as they are tiny and naturally drawn to light sources) were re- directed back into the sea. If left to their own devices in the nest, many would not be strong enough to dig their way out and make it down the beach into the water, or might go the wrong way and end up as breakfast for the morning guls!
Give it a go when you are here, it’s a very worthwhile and enjoyable experience.
