Calle San Miguel的点评
点评：I mistakenly took the Calle San Miguel stairway after midnight. I was approached by a gang of young arab looking men who proceeded to rob me. I had no cards with me and only a nominal amount of cash. They demanded I go to the nearest atm to give them money. Thankfully it did not work as my bank does not allow me to tap my phone at ATM’s here. It was the ATM at Calle Bajondillo 31 on the 15/11/2024.
They had knives on them too. They got very aggressive and put me against the wall and pulled off my gold chain. Even with having alcohol on me, I decided to put up a fight and thankfully fended them off. I am a little scratched up and bruised but somehow i got the better of them. They did not get my phone or anything else. They only got the medal off my chain which ironically was a Miraculous Medal to Our Lady.
I understand that Calle San Miguel is becoming increasingly dangerous at night. I have been coming here for many years and never really had a problem. I did hear horror stories. As a big Irish guy who is a former boxer I would not be easily intimidated. But this was scary!
Why is there no police presence if there is a high rate of crime in that area at night? When you walk down the stairs you get trapped. There is no where to go when all the shops are closed. The police should at least have CCTV in that area and monitor it. Someone will get stabbed to death!
I would ask tourists to avoid this area. Get a taxi or uber and by pass it all.
I went to the police station to report this crime. They did not seem interested and practically blamed me for using these stairs at night. Apparently you can only give an english statement at certain times of the day. Ridiculous! They also said I could go into Malaga and report it. Also ridiculous! The ATM has CCTV. They are easily identifiable. The police have no interest in sorting out the crime in this area. Avoid!!!
