新市政厅的点评
点评：We did a self guided walking tour through Munich and this was definitely a highlight. We had a great view of the New Town Hall from Marienplatz and enjoyed the architecture. There is an inner courtyard and plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby that are good and popular.
When we visited in June the Marienplatz was very busy and they were setting up stalls with Hofbrauhaus beer. The inner courtyard offered a quiet escape from the busy square. There is a very detailed clock on the tower of the New Town Hall that features a glockenspiel that goes off at 11, 12 and 5. We got there a bit late but would like to see it in motion. The square in front of city hall is where they have their Christmas Market too and we are hoping to be back for that one day.
The closest U-Bahn subway station is Marienplatz and it is a short walk from there. There is a lot to see and do in this area so it is a perfect starting point to see the city of Munich.
