点评:We pent two glorious days on the "Bonnie Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond". Satying at the idyllic village of Luss it was an ideal place to see the loch.
Loch Lomond is the largest "by area" of the Scottish loch's extending over 20 miles from Balloch in the south to the northern tip. It stretches from the from the Scottish Lowlands to the Scottish Highlands as the Highland Boundary Fault cuts through the southern end of the lake with the Highland Boundary Fault traversing the loch from east to west, from Conic Hill to Ben Bowie. Officially separating the lowlands from the highlands. Seen clearly by a distinctive contrast of scenery from the Lowlands in the south to the Highlands in the north. To the north of the lake is Ben Lomond the first of the many Munro's in the highlands (over 3000ft) and clearly visible on a good day from all around the loch. There are many islands in the loch which can be visited and explored given time.
We spent our days exploring the area around Luss, with walks into the hills and woodlands. The village is home to a quaint church with lots of history. The pier allows one great views of the loch and provides a point for water activities. It is also the place to take tours of the loch and the water taxi to Balmaha. Our only regret was that we did not spend more time here. Firkin Point is also a great plpace to view the northern section of the loch.
