Duart Castle的点评
点评：The most amazing place we visited in Scotland. My wife's Clan scarf was immediately recognised at the entry kiosk as it was as we met our guides. What a warm hug we received from all there and from this family home which was extended to everyone visiting. The guides were all exceptional in their deep enthusiasm and love of their subject and surroundings. No detail or question was to difficult to answer and it was communicated with ease and as if we were the only people the guide really wanted to impart their knowledge to. We were unlucky and did not experience the Clan Chieftan , Sir Lachlan Maclean taking his shift as a guide but the young man, young lady and teenage boy certainly rose to the challenge to make him proud. Their castle itself is a truly remarkable experience with an amazing history. One needs several hours to appreciate it.
We visited the well stocked shop for a bottle of the fine Duart Whisky and some Christmas presents before having a well earned rest in the Cafe.
The quality of the Venison Bridie (pie) was exceptional and I was disappointed they didn't sell or have a handout for the recipe. Again the staff all round were really lovely.
We fondly remember our visit to the Isle of Mull. It is a wonderful place and as we travelled on the ferry from Oban, Castle Duart stands as a welcome on the hill and a farewell as you return home. For my wife, née Rankin, it was a very special day. Visit 8th September 2025.
