Bald Head Island can do better than this bully & boat

点评：We are a seasoned fishing family. Not newbs here. We have lifetime fishing licenses from NC. We have fished all over the country, and abroad, both fresh and salt water. We book charters, so we can make many comparisons from captains, mates, boats, gear and overall experience. If I could give this charter a zero, I would. We book a charter every year out of Southport area for our trip to Bald Head Island. We have bern coming to BHI for 18 years! So, this experience was not on par with the quality of the island vacation!
1) the front office phone handler is the only reason to give a one star. She is lipstick on this pig of an outfit. Overpromises while he under delivers.
2) The captain was horrible. Doesn’t communicate where we are going, what we are fishing for, etc. He screams at poor Ricky, his mate. The mate’s hands were shaking he had him so flustered. The captain in his burly smoker’s voice does nothing but scream until it’s time to give a tip. Then he apologizes for not finding the fish on an all day charter that cost $2k plus a 20% tip.
3) We all had to work! Lift the cooler, pull down the outrigger, etc, because the captain had one mate on a 6 line boat!
4) Pretty sure one of the rods (usually the most active) was without a lure for most of the trip. So, one mate…5 lines.
5) Not relaxing due to excessive belittling and loud screaming. “Ricky, why is that line over”, “Ricky set the hook,” “Ricky, you gotta move faster.” “Yessir, yessir.” We heard that all day long. Our son, who this trip was purchased for, said he never wants to go with this captain again.
6) The captain steers the boat, never came down to meet us until payment time. He stinks and we think his fishfinder is broken.
DON’T BOOK THIS CHARTER. Unless you love seeing a 30 year old bullied, demeaned and yelled at, you enjoy sideshow acts of captains and paying $2400 for one edible fish
