点评:We were staying on Mull and decided to travel across to Iona. However I have a mobility difficulty and use a walking stick. Despite all the vision mission etc of the community they are not inclusive when it comes to disabled people.
Firstly at the ferry there is nowhere to sit and wait. When I was on the ferry I stayed downstairs. There was no announcement we had arrived and after my husband had called me to see where I was I got up to get off. As I was leaving one of the crew said they wondered where I was. Obviously not that bothered though as they didn't come to look.
Arriving at the island it became apparent that I was not going to be able to do or see much. On the boat they said there was a taxi I could call but how long would that take?
I went in a cafe and had a drink and watched the ferry going to and fro. But that was all I could really do.
Golf carts to ferry those with mobility challenges (even for a small fee) would make this much more inclusive.
Apparently I could have applied for a blue badge exemption permit for my car but that takes 48 hours which we didn't have.
