点评：At first glance, this church appears imposing and it's hard to decide what to focus on first; the gothic architecture or the mosaic on the roof. This Cathedral is endlessly majestic. Before walking inside, I circled it on foot about three times, and viewed it from a distance to fully appreciate varied angles in order to focus on and absorb all the nuances in its exterior. This isn't a building you can merely glance at and say you've seen. One must take the time to truly appreciate and get to know it. Walking inside, I was struck by the Gothic pulpit and the intricately sculpted reliefs of various church doctors, they were striking and commanded attention. I took great joy in sitting in one of the pews and simply looking at my surroundings. I did this during the day and later in the evening.
I also took a tour of the catacombs which was fascinating and educational. Yes, you will see real bones; listen to the history your tour guide provides to you and ponder your surroundings, there is a lot of information to take it, and feel free to ask questions. The church tour guides are ridiculously knowledgeable and in my experience very friendly.
Walking into the church is free, but if you want to take the catacombs tour, it costs 7 euro, which is perfectly reasonable.
I tend to spend more time in churches and other houses of worship than the average person, but I would say expect to spend at least 1 hour to truly make the visit all it can be so you do not feel rushed. This church is a highly popular tourist spot (that's why you're reading this review), so keep that in mind when visiting. There is a great chance there will be a crowd. My tip would be to go as early or as late as possible, but I did notice there were some decent sized crowds at night.
