点评：I am so grateful that I found Catherine's illustrative journaling workshops during my year abroad in Aix-en-Provence. I really enjoyed getting to know Catherine while exploring Aix and its surrounding areas during our Tuesday classes. Catherine always made me feel welcome and that I am a capable artist. We worked together for 10 months and she was really able to help me improve my artistic style during private instruction and small group workshop settings.
I hadn't taken an art class for over 20 years and really didn't know what to expect from the first class. Catherine teaches her students how to choose their subject, how to layout the design on paper and how to capture the feeling of the moment. It was a wonderful way to spend 2 and half hours each week and I have a very special travel journal that will instantly bring me back to our Tuesday afternoons together. One of my goals during my year abroad was to focus on being present and Catherine's style of illustrative journaling forces everyone to be in the moment and can lead to a meditative practice.
I would recommend a private class or a workshop to experienced illustrators and painters along with people totally new to creating art. Catherine was kind enough to lead a workshop at my home for a group of friends that each had different levels of artistic experience. She put everyone at ease and encouraged each person with their particular style. Catherine helps those around her appreciate the experience of making art and feel proud of their final composition.
There is something about Catherine where she attracts kind-hearted, welcoming and fun people. Each class was a very joyful experience.
